KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 5 August 2026 — The Global Cybersecurity Alliance (GCSA) and the Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World (AETDEW) formally signed a cooperation agreement in Kuala Lumpur, announcing the establishment of a strategic partnership and the joint creation of the AI Cybersecurity Research Institute.
H.E. Kabiné Komara, former Prime Minister of Guinea and Senior Adviser on International Finance and Security Governance, along with Dr. Moneef R. Zou’bi, Member of the New York Academy of Sciences and Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science, attended the signing ceremony and delivered remarks on behalf of GCSA.
Academician Dato’ Ir. Dr. Lee Yee Cheong, Founding President of AETDEW and Senior Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, together with Ir. Ts. Choo Kok Beng FASc, President of AETDEW and Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, attended the signing ceremony and delivered remarks.
Both parties expressed their commitment to advancing frontier research, strengthening talent development, and accelerating the translation of research outcomes into practical applications, thereby contributing to a safer and more trusted digital world.
As its next step, the Global Cybersecurity Alliance (GCSA) will also collaborate with leading universities and research institutions worldwide to establish additional AI cybersecurity research centers.
