A Welcome Dinner was hosted by Dato and Datin Yong Ah Huat for AETDEW Academician Shi Zhumei of Fuzhou China in Kuala Lumpur on 26 August 2026. Yong Ah Huat is AETDEW Deputy President and AAET Secretary General. Shi Zhumei was the former Deputy Party Secretary, Fukian Education Bureau, former Party Secretary General Fukian Agriculture University, former Party Secretary, Fuzhou University and a pioneer in promoting Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World (AETDEW) activities in China and Malaysia.
The dinner was attended by ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology (AAET) President/President, University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Professor Ewe Hong Tat , AAET Executive Secretary Fok Kuk Fai, AETDEW Executive Council Members Dr Jenny Yan and Professor Han Liqun from China; AETDEW Acting Secretary General Lawrence Tan and AETDEW Founding President Lee Yee Cheong. AETDEW Academician Xiong Fangjun of China was represented by the Chief Executive of his Singapore company.
Yee Cheong and Hong Tat agreed to establish the AAET/AETDEW Distinguished Academician Public Lecture Program at UTAR. Hong Tat informed that UTAR has been appointed consultant by Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education to look into higher education policy and implementation. Liqun promised to arrange to share China’s experience. Jenny and Liqun discussed the registration of AETDEW Chengdu Office with Chengdu local authority to facilitate organising AETDEW activities in AI Education; and Infrastructure Operation and Maintenance.
Zhumei who is a world traveller regaled the gathering with his adventures and misadventures in Iceland, Tunisia, Montenegro, Namibia etc. A good time was had by all.
2026 年8月26日，DatoYongAhHuat和夫人在吉隆坡为来自中国福州的东盟工程技术学院（AETDEW）院士施祖美举办了欢迎晚宴。
Yong Ah Huat 是发展中世界工程技术院副院长兼东盟工程技术院秘书长。施祖美曾任福建省教育厅副书记、福建农业大学党委书记、福州大学党委书记，是推动AETDEW在中国和马来西亚发展的先驱。
出席晚宴的有东盟工程技术学院院长/拉曼大学（UTAR）校长EweHongTat教授、东盟工程技术院执行秘书FokKukFai、东盟工程技术学院执行委员严金秀博士和韩力群教授（来自中国）、东盟工程技术学院代理秘书长LawrenceTan以及东盟工程技术学院创始院长Lee Yee Cheong。 中国AETDEW 院士熊方军由其新加坡公司首席执行官代表出席。
Lee YeeCeong 和 Ewe Hong Tat 同意在拉曼大学设立AAET/AETDEW杰出院士公开讲座项目。EweHongTat告知，拉曼大学已被马来西亚高等教育部委任为顾问，负责研究高等教育政策及实施情况。韩力群承诺安排分享中国的经验。严金秀和韩力群讨论了AETDEW 成都办事处在成都市政府的注册事宜，以便更好地组织AETDEW在人工智能教育、基础设施运营和维护方面的活动
身为环球旅行家施祖美，绘声绘色地讲述了他在冰岛、突尼斯、黑山、纳米比亚等地的奇遇和趣事，令在场的所有人都兴致盎然。大家都很开心。
