AETDEW Honorary President Academician Dato Ir Lee Yee Cheong spoke on “Malaysia ASEAN and the Global Civiliization Initiative” during the Dialogue Meeting of Confucianism Civilization and Islamic Civilization and Belt and Road Coperation in University Tunku Abdul Rahman UTAR Kuala Lumpur on 23 September 2025. The Dialogue Meeting was graced by the presence of His Excellency Lin Wu the Shandong Party Secretary. Malaysian Science Technology and Innovation Minister His Excellency Chang Lih Kang made a speech of welcome.
Academician Dato Lee made a plea for the Nishan Foundation Shandong and UTAR to compile a comprehensive story or narrative of the Land Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road starting with the Travels of Ibn Battuta and Zheng He, Central Asia, Islamic Golden Age and the Ottoman Empire of Turkey to the achievements of the present day Belt and Road Initiative in social economic and environmental uplift of Belt and Road countries. He touched on the Global Development Initiative and its anchor the Belt and Road Initiative as well as the Global Security Initiative. He suggested exploring setting up a cooperation organisation among port cities and countries in the 21st century Maritime Silk Road along the same line as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization along the Land Silk Road Economic Belt. The Fusion of Belt and Road Civilization narrative should be suitable for education curriculum complemented by AI enabled virtual reality displays for museums for the edification of the common people, youth and children of Silk and Road countries.

拿督李怡章院士呼吁尼山基金会山东省和拉曼大学编写一部关于陆上丝绸之路经济带和21世纪海上丝绸之路的全面故事或叙述,从伊本·白图泰和郑和下西洋、中亚、伊斯兰黄金时代和土耳其奥斯曼帝国开始,到当今“一带一路”倡议在沿线国家社会经济和环境提升方面取得的成就。他谈到了全球发展倡议及其核心“一带一路”倡议以及全球安全倡议。他建议探索在21世纪海上丝绸之路沿线港口城市和国家之间建立合作组织,类似于在陆上丝绸之路经济带沿线的上海合作组织。“一带一路”文明融合的叙事应适用于教育课程,并在博物馆中辅以人工智能虚拟现实展示,以启迪丝绸之路沿线国家的普通民众和青少年儿童。
