Dear, Fellows, Honorary, Foreign and Associates Fellows,
Happy, healthy and prosperous 2026.
My new year resolution for AETDEW is to start up AETDEW Endowment Fund (AEF) for its sustainability and continued contribution to make the Global South a peaceful and better place for all.
Since its founding, AETDEW has been depending on contributions from Sein Myint, me and the annual RM 10, 000/- from Lee Yee Chong and operating from my office in KL.
AEF investment income will provide the basic operating expenses with its capital sum kept intact. The rules and procedures to operate AEF will be announced after it is approved at council meeting 1/2026 in March at a convenient place in South China.
Other than this resolution and with the leadership of Han Liqun we will continue to focus on expanding the training of teachers in AI proficiency with ISTIC and Sri Bestari Private School KL as partners.
Advance AI education and training will be led by Tan Chee Fai in partnership with ISTIC, KLUST, Sri Bestari initially and other interested parties in the future. A one day seminar and 2 days training workshop hosted by KLUST is in the planning for July 2026.
We are pleased to accept a new Fellows Angkham’s offer for the rebranding of AETDEW and enhancing members connectivity for council’s consideration.
With continued active members involvement especially of new Fellows and Associate Fellows we can look forward to an exciting and successful 2026.
Finally, my appreciation to Fellows Wong Chee Fui and Yap Kian Lim who has relinquished their pro bono services on 31/12/25 as Executive Director and Secretary respectively and sincere appreciation to all that have supported our activities in 2025.
